Letter 28
(Prologue & Three Anti-absorptive Sonnets)

Distance, rather than absorption
is the intended effect.

Music ((the higher limit))
it for yourself. ((The
absorptive/narrative.)) Need
for communication           telling
the story. Old in                               
     & out
real savage-like
                                     yet
anti-metaphorical
                           intended
a sense.


     I


Once   a    skeleton
is determined the filling
is routine.      The placing
of syllables on a page
effacing self   ((self-effacing))
to rub out.   THIS  is intended
effect.    The  blur  @  the  edge
The jumpiness created by shadows
after   28   days   of   sleep-deprivation
and the distance created or proximity
to the edge. The margins, always
rich in egotistical non-interference
always rich in non-absorptivity
not a canal but a channel, a watercourse.

     II

Water       this
of course an element/essential
no August goes by   w/o dowsing.
The spectrum of a fully-hydrated
poetics    and   the   intended   ramification
what there be no drought condition
sprout  each  utterance  demarcated  clear
the essence of the monkey                         
                                      mind  glory
replicated   in   a   syllable
after syllable                
linear  manner
because the lightening and each
subsequent ((concurrent)) action.

     III

Simultaneity.    Initiation
of trends. The garden
is absorption. The difficulty
is the poem's flourish. Blossoming
in the many panes of the window
the widow                   or the son          freed
of a ninety-seven yr old invalid
mother        free to Arizona himself
with    a    cracked-open chest operation
the window of options narrow in the
mechanistic world, but then America
and choice. Combative. Competitive.
Music it for your self & it
comes out         distance.
