Read a poem by another poet written
on the same day:

Journal of the View of the City

And so everything dawns and keeps dawning
a new light on the city
amends thousands
the walk in your step
foot movement a
place to go          forget the lapping
we are setting sail

all song above Seattle is a lot of
love
floating just about the streets
sidewalk voices
careen on the car horn
drifts in and out
far, far below

RA tells us we shouldn't or
          shouldn't be here
music in between the
          something          something
the marketplace                    such a
          hands on experience
          the water
the lost                    stop          loop
                    quiet          and dust
paper and ink
two peas in a pod
and down on the corner taking
trouble for    pleasure   someone's

yeah this body is
          human too
                    still in this
year
          of the longing soft touch

                    of expectation
the balcony rocked that song
w/ eyes useless
          you pulled it after
                              the jolt of the story
          while i
                    did     it's wide
came around and around an echo
          in the night music
          an echo

          the leftover office window lights
shaped like a giant
smiley face
