23—Electric Mower Cord Dance
(From Yesterday's Sentence)

Pop's bitter. All in life he's ever loved's been taken away
& after 72 yrs takes it personal.
I guess we all know about the walking wounded:
"do unto others then split."
The change comes when his value's recognized. The
electric lawn
mower runs w/ the aid of a very long extension
cord. As I push the mower in a circle, he holds & lifts, a
dance of Father & Son, he pointing out
& then demonstrates proper technique, he feels self-worth.
Later we sit.  He  is  no  longer  bitter,  pleased w/ our work.
A bird walks next to green garden tomatoes. It is a
dove, the first I've seen around here.
