"Stop being so dramatic!" "Look, I'm tired." He was slicing vegetables for a salad and needed some cheese to go with it. It took control of him. Salad - how he obsessed over salad. Everything had to be perfect. The couple loved to argue. It gave them something to build on. Until their daughter was born, he taught High School Math and was also the track coach. She had lost their first child…literally. Just lost her. Wasn't paying attention while at the mall one day shopping for her husband's birthday gift. "Too much shit has been going on lately." "So what do you want me to do about it?" They loved to have sex and were very open about it. They could talk freely about sex to anyone who'd listen. So what's the big deal? They were pretty broke when they were starting out together. So that day the baby was lost, she came home with a new shirt and tie. The usual. They always bought the same birthday gifts for eachother. She got a pair of earrings, he the shirt and tie…until her father and mother died in a crash and she received a large lump of cash. The room became quiet. Baby stopped screaming. And
she turned on the shower, left the door open so steam could get out. He
watched her undress.
